As a critical care nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill clients, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill clients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of care.
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' physical and emotional needs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based interventions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and healthcare teams, fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and open communication.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that enhance patient care and safety.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and technological advancements in critical care, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and advance nursing practice.
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Completion of a recognized critical care nursing program or two years' recent, related critical care experience
- Strong knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including the principles of critical care and the management of complex medical conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities with ease
