Critical Care Nurse

Job Summary
Providence Health Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care team. As a Staff Nurse in our ICU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, and contributing to a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, identify, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care required to assist patients/residents in meeting their physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise the plan of care, incorporating individual and/or group teaching into the care plan and nursing interventions.
- Provide direct nursing interventions for management of crisis and life-threatening situations, and document information including assessments, plan of care, patient/resident status, and progress.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care, and participate in nursing orientation and share clinical knowledge with other nursing staff.
- Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient/resident care policies, procedures, education materials, and best practices.
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Completion of a post-graduate critical care course, or two years' recent experience in an equivalent setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to work as a member in an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to apply decision-making and analytical skills, and to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work, and to operate related equipment.
