Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to pursue a Critical Care Certificate through the BCIT Critical Care Program. Upon successful completion, you will work in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient/resident status through chart reviews, observations, and interviews
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, prioritizing nursing interventions and evaluating outcomes
  • Provide direct nursing care, including crisis management and life-threatening situations
  • Document patient/resident information, including assessments, plans, and progress
  • Lead group patient/family sessions and coach patients/residents to develop health-promoting behaviors
  • Provide direction to other staff, including Care Attendants and Licensed Practical Nurses
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures
  • Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Decision-making and analytical skills
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
