Proposal Manager

Valard, a leading utility contractor, is seeking a highly skilled Proposal Manager to join their team. As a key member of the Proposal Department, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing proposals that showcase Valard's capabilities and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain proposal procedures and processes to ensure consistency and quality across all submissions.
- Provide leadership and planning to the Proposal Department to ensure that all necessary structures, systems, and competencies are in place to meet departmental objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with other departments, offices, and sister organizations to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
- Manage and train Proposal Coordinators, overseeing daily activities and assignments to ensure successful proposal outcomes.
- Act as submission lead for major proposals, ensuring that all necessary deliverables are created and reviewed to meet client requirements.
- Coordinate internal kick-off and strategy meetings to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned and informed.
- Develop and maintain the Valard Bid Library, a virtual repository of key information, templates, and supporting documentation required for proposal responses.
- Continuously learn, improve, and build methods and procedures to enhance Valard's chance of selection.
- Bachelor's degree in Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proposal-related experience, with 5-7 years of management and marketing/sales experience.
- Project management experience and/or training is an asset.
- Supply chain management experience and/or training is an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
- Advanced knowledge of databases to create and maintain information stores in internal systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle proprietary information with discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Decision-making skills and effective verbal and listening skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective organizational and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
