About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Medicine Hat Care Community Ltd. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to our residents, focusing on geriatrics and palliative care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Medications: Safely and accurately administer medications to residents, ensuring their health and well-being.
  • Monitor Respiratory and IV Therapy: Continuously monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide Safety and Health Education: Educate individuals and their families on safety and health practices, promoting healthy habits and preventing complications.
  • Nursing Services: Provide nursing services within the defined scope of practice, based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
  • Monitor Progress and Evaluate Effectiveness: Regularly monitor patients' progress, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with the healthcare team as needed.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for Licensure: Be eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work.
  • Certifications: Hold a current CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience: Have 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Environment: Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with repetitive tasks.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to work in a physically demanding environment, with attention to detail.
