About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Medicine Hat Care Community Ltd. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to our residents, focusing on geriatrics and palliative care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Medications: Safely administer medications to residents, ensuring accurate dosages and monitoring for potential side effects.
  • Monitor Established Respiratory Therapy and Intravenous Therapy: Continuously monitor residents receiving respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal care.
  • Provide Safety and Health Education: Educate residents and their families on safety and health practices, promoting independence and well-being.
  • Provide Nursing Services: Deliver nursing services within the defined scope of practice, based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
  • Monitor Patients' Progress: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for Licensure: Be eligible for licensure as a practical nurse in the province/territory of work.
  • Certifications: Hold a current CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate.
  • Area of Specialization: Have experience in geriatrics and palliative care.
  • Work Environment: Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with repetitive tasks.
  • Physical Capabilities: Possess the physical stamina to perform the demands of the role.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and care.
