About the Opportunity:

  • As a Licensed Practical Nurse with Alberta Health Services, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing high-quality care to patients with addiction and mental health challenges.
  • You will utilize your nursing knowledge and skills to form therapeutic relationships with patients and families, and work collaboratively with a healthcare team to provide patient-centered care.

About the Role:

  • As a Psychiatric Nurse, you will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients with complex mental health needs, and working with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • You will utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to guide your practice, and work in accordance with Alberta Health Services policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited practical nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA).
  • Hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficient in English language, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience in an Acute Care Addiction and Mental Health unit is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Alberta Health Services computer applications, such as Netcare and Medworxx.
