Job Title: Executive Chef - Culinary Operations Manager
The Algonquin Resort is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and presentation in our restaurants, bars, and banquets.
Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
About The Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef who can lead our culinary team and provide exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in a similar role and will possess excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
- Analyze operating costs and other data to inform menu planning and pricing decisions
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to our culinary staff
- Supervise the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
- Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Recruit and hire staff
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
Requirements:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 5 years or more experience or equivalent experience
Certifications:
- Safe Food Handling certificate
