Strategic Engineering Outreach Professional

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Outreach Manager to provide strategic guidance, program development, and long-term program management of all engineering outreach programs.
Nature of Work: Reporting to the Associate Dean, Experiential Learning and Engineering Outreach, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all engineering outreach programs, developing fund proposals, and providing leadership and support to ensure effective donor relations and stewardship activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight of all engineering outreach programs, including program development, delivery, and assessment.
- Development of fund proposals under the direction of the Associate Dean to secure funding for new, continuing, and expansion of outreach programs.
- Leadership and support to ensure effective donor relations and stewardship activities.
- Reporting requirements of outreach activities as per funding agreements.
- Representation of the Engineering Outreach unit in outreach partnership committees and memberships.
- Leadership of Engineering Outreach personnel in developing and delivering programming for elementary and secondary school students and teachers.
- Maintenance of a high level of performance within the Engineering Outreach unit through effective hiring and supervision of staff.
- Coordination of outreach activities as they pertain to undergraduate recruitment.
- Development of a clear communication plan and materials to promote outreach programs and activities.
- Management of the overall Engineering Outreach budget, tracking special accounts for reporting purposes, and procurement of all capital needs.
- Leadership and support of other special projects related to engineering outreach and the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.
Required Skills:
- Experience in supervising staff with excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within the organization and effectively manage strategic goals.
- Excellent coaching skills to guide and motivate team engagement and development.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships both inside and outside of the organization.
- Well-developed written communication and interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and tact, with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Required Education:
- Four-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
Required Experience:
- A minimum of three to five years of related experience in engineering outreach and/or management.
- Previous experience in fundraising, including grant writing and submissions, which resulted in successfully securing funds.
- Experience in stewardship of donated funds.
- Demonstrated success in personnel supervision within a post-secondary environment.
- An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
