Engineering Outreach Manager - Limited Term

Faculty/Department: Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science

The Engineering Outreach Manager provides strategic guidance, program development, and long-term program management of all engineering outreach programs. This role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to secure funding and supervise outreach personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all engineering outreach programs.
  • Develop fund proposals to secure funding for new, continuing, and expansion of outreach programs.
  • Work with internal stakeholders on reporting requirements and represent the Engineering Outreach unit in outreach partnership committees.
  • Lead Engineering Outreach personnel in developing and delivering programming for elementary and secondary school students and teachers.
  • Maintain a high level of performance within the Engineering Outreach unit through effective hiring and supervision of staff.
  • Coordinate outreach activities related to undergraduate recruitment and develop a clear communication plan to promote outreach programs.
  • Work with the Faculty Budget Officer on managing the overall Engineering Outreach budget and procurement of capital needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supervising staff with excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A four-year Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of three to five years of related experience in engineering outreach and/or management.
  • Previous experience in fundraising, including grant writing and submissions.
