Job Summary: The Engineering Outreach Manager provides strategic guidance and program development for all engineering outreach programs at Ontario Tech University. This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to secure funding and supervise outreach personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all engineering outreach programs.
  • Develop fund proposals to secure funding for new, continuing, and expansion of outreach programs.
  • Provide leadership and support for effective donor relations and stewardship activities.
  • Work with internal stakeholders on reporting requirements of outreach activities.
  • Represent the Engineering Outreach unit in outreach partnership committees and memberships.
  • Lead Engineering Outreach personnel in developing and delivering programming for elementary and secondary school students and teachers.
  • Maintain a high level of performance within the Engineering Outreach unit through effective hiring and supervision of staff.
  • Coordinate outreach activities related to undergraduate recruitment.
  • Develop a clear communication plan and materials to promote outreach programs and activities.
  • Manage the overall Engineering Outreach budget and track special accounts for reporting purposes.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supervising staff with excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within the organization and manage strategic goals.
  • Excellent coaching skills to guide and motivate team engagement and development.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships both inside and outside the organization.
  • Well-developed written communication and interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Four-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three to five years of related experience in engineering outreach and/or management.
  • Previous experience in fundraising, grant writing, and submissions.
  • Experience in stewardship of donated funds.
  • Success in personnel supervision within a postsecondary environment.
