About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room at Sinai Health. As a Surgical Nurse Specialist, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform the duties of the scrub nurse, including preparing and maintaining surgical equipment and supplies.
  • Contribute to the patient assessment process and implement patients' plans of care.
  • Collaborate with other members of the intraprofessional and interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Act as a patient advocate and contribute to the smooth functioning and efficiency of the unit.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education and engage in self-reflection to facilitate personal and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Current RPN certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in the Perioperative setting.
  • A diploma or equivalent from a CNO-approved practical nursing program.
  • Successful completion of RPN Operating Room program.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
