We are seeking an experienced and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team in the Ophthalmology Department at North York General Hospital. As a Senior Ophthalmology Surgical Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing excellent patient care and contributing to the advancement of surgical nursing practice.

About the Role

This is a full-time temporary position of 12 months with 8 hour shifts, days, evenings and weekends on call. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing excellent patient care and ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the surgical process.
  • Collaborating with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth and efficient surgery.
  • Assessing patients' needs and developing individualized care plans to meet their unique requirements.
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitoring patients' responses to these interventions.
  • Participating in ongoing education and professional development to enhance your knowledge and skills in surgical nursing.

About the Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 per year, based on national averages and industry standards. This figure includes a range of factors, such as location, experience, and qualifications.
