As a Respiratory Therapist with Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will play a critical role in the initiation and management of mechanical ventilation and advanced airway management. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve physician goals for patients' cardiorespiratory status. Your responsibilities will include delivering and managing the administration of oxygen and other compressed gases, aerosolized medications, and high humidity therapies. You will also perform and interpret related pulmonary diagnostic testing.
Additionally, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating the effectiveness of respiratory care and airway management for patients. You may also be involved in patient or staff education sessions.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Therapist who holds a graduate degree from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy. You must also hold/maintain registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists and certification in CPR at NRP and ACLS levels. Travel to other sites may be required, and you must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
You will need to possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be adaptable and flexible to adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
Hours- Permanent Part Time: 60% (45 hours bi-weekly)

Compensation and IncentivesThe hourly rate for this position is $32.43 - $40.66. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
