Job Summary

The Development Manager is a key role at BC Housing, responsible for leading the development of complex and diverse social, affordable, and mixed market housing projects. This position requires strong project management skills, knowledge of real estate development and construction, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Provide project leadership and coordination to a project team, working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts, municipal land use entitlements, and real estate issues, and partnership agreements.
  • Ensure due diligence requirements are completed, and funding and finance models abide by Provincial fiduciary requirements.

Requirements

  • University degree in business administration, project management, land use planning, or real estate development and financing, or a related field.
  • Considerable project management experience in multi-unit residential housing development, including the non-profit sector market.
  • Strong knowledge of project management philosophies, theories, and principles, including project scoping, budget development, scheduling, tendering, quality assurance, risk management, and project team coordination.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
