Job Title: Hotel Operations Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Hotel Operations Manager to join our team at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Waterloo/St. Jacobs. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our food and beverage services, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective budgeting and cost control strategies to optimize food and beverage revenue.
  • Evaluate daily operations and make data-driven decisions to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Determine the type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures to meet guest needs.
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Conduct performance reviews to assess employee performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Cost products and services to ensure optimal pricing and profitability.
  • Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations to maintain a safe and responsible environment.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed to protect employees and guests.
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies to secure the best prices and services.
  • Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities to drive revenue growth.
  • Participate in marketing plans and implementation to promote our food and beverage services.
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns to provide exceptional guest experiences.
  • Provide customer service to ensure guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in hotel operations or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with employees, guests, and suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and high pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software to manage operations and finances.
