As a Pastry Chef at Fox Harb\u2019r Resort, you will be responsible for maintaining and directing all aspects of the pastry kitchen. This includes planning and executing all dessert menus for dining service and banquet events, ensuring all pastry kitchen items are prepared to standard, and taking a leading role in the kitchen to assist in making the kitchen successful every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and direct all aspects of pastry kitchen
  • Plan and execute all dessert menus for dining service and banquet events
  • Ensure all pastry kitchen items are prepared to standard
  • Take a leading role in the kitchen to assist in making the kitchen successful every day
  • Follow up on all day-to-day and extra duties for all pertinent staff
  • Ensure that all mise en place is completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry area and proper storage of all food product
  • To ensure all appropriate provincial health regulations and food handling techniques are followed.

Requirements:

  • Red Seal certification and 3-5 years experience as a lead cook in a similar property with a focus on pastry
  • Possess necessary skills and creativity to enhance food quality and presentation standards within a consistency-based framework
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to train others within the defined standards using established culinary techniques
  • Must display attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team effectively
  • Ensure workplace and food safety requirements are consistently met
  • Pasty kitchen inventory management, portion control, and waste minimization
  • Flexibility
