Role Summary: As a Corporate Legal Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing and mitigating legal risks while ensuring compliance with various regulations. Your expertise will be essential in navigating complex legal landscapes and supporting our internal teams in achieving their objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve contentious matters by conducting thorough investigations, analyzing facts, and providing strategic guidance.
- Oversee Bombardier's global litigation files, working closely with external legal counsel to develop effective strategies and participate in litigation phases.
- Attend mediations, trials, and depositions as necessary to represent Bombardier's interests.
- Manage discovery obligations, including e-discovery, and prepare employees for witness roles in complex litigation.
- Report on litigation progress and strategies to the management team, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Handle a variety of litigation and commercial claims across all business segments, including procurement and aircraft sales.
- Lead risk management initiatives, utilizing your leadership skills to influence decisions and outcomes.
- Provide training and guidance to internal clients to prevent litigation and learn from past experiences.
Qualifications:
- Active member of a Canadian province or US state bar, with a preference for candidates holding a dual degree in civil and common law.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in commercial litigation, preferably gained at a reputable law firm.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, autonomy, and strong judgment in both litigious and business contexts.
- Comfortable working in a technical environment where engineering and aerospace concepts are frequently discussed.
- Ability to manage a demanding schedule and willingness to travel internationally as required.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and drafting skills, with a proven ability to persuade effectively.
- Interest in emerging technologies and adaptability to a dynamic work environment.
- Fluency in both French and English, with strong oral and written communication skills.
