Island Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Residence/Shelter Team Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a Diploma in a related field such as Community Social Services, with a focus on mental illness, addictions, and special needs.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of recent experience working with individuals with mental health and addiction issues, related housing and rehabilitation needs, and office experience. Alternatively, the candidate may possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with individuals, family members, and community contacts.
- Develop and implement housing and rehabilitation plans for individuals with mental health and addiction issues.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive support services.
- Supervise and lead a team of Residence/Shelter Team Members.
- Provide training and guidance on community development principles and community dynamics.
- Stay up-to-date with local housing options and associated issues.
- Exercise sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Utilize word processing, spreadsheet, database, and office communication software.
- Valid BC Driver's License.
- Certificates in Food Safe, CPR, and First Aid.
- Ability to type and utilize office software.
- Physical ability to perform duties.
