Job Summary

The Provincial Health Services Authority is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Medical Call Taker to join our team. As a key member of our dispatch operations centre, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to the public in emergency medical situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide calm and decisive support to callers in emergency medical situations, using exceptional customer service skills to remain focused and composed under pressure.
  • Prioritize multiple competing tasks and use a methodical approach to problem solve, make decisions, and communicate clearly.
  • Take a leadership role in building relationships with team members and callers, actively seeking win-win solutions and maintaining professionalism in cases of healthy conflict.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Valid certificates in Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.
  • 2+ years' experience in customer service, with experience in a call centre being an asset.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Minimum typing speed of 30WPM.

Work Environment

Work shifts on weekdays and weekends, rotational shifts, statutory holidays as operation runs 24/7, 365 days a year.

Location: Langford Dispatch Operations Centre.

Wage: $32.60 hourly.
