Nurse Practitioner Role in Medical Oncology

BC Cancer is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Medical Oncology. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in managing care during active treatment, palliative care, and after-cancer care. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with various types of cancer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat patients with undifferentiated diseases, illnesses, and conditions within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic investigations as needed.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Eligibility to complete the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) through the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience.
