About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Regulatory Consumer Affairs Manager to join our team at Natures Path Foods. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, labeling and claims, and providing consumer services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for regulatory compliance, labeling, and nutritional statements.
  • Establish labeling standards and guidelines for all products across various countries.
  • Act as an advocate for customer regulatory issues related to label compliance.
  • Identify, implement, and manage process improvements related to regulatory information management.
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries regarding product, ingredient, or nutritional information.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for marketing and suppliers regarding product naming, claims, and overall package label integrity.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on FDA and CFIA regulations and policies, and ensure the business is prepared for changes in regulations.
  • Communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders regarding food labeling regulations.
  • Ensure full Regulatory Compliance.
  • Collaborate with the team and suppliers to support policies, programs, and certifications such as Organic, Gluten-free, Non-GMO, Kosher, Whole Grains, etc.
  • Provide cross-functional oversight and hands-on technical support to ensure procedures, policies, training, and document control systems are compliant and up-to-date.
  • Act as the department lead with third-party certifying bodies and control bodies to ensure certification status under multiple regulatory standards.
  • Assist in ensuring timely and accurate responses to governmental agency and customer inquiries regarding regulatory and food safety matters.
  • Engage with external regulatory authorities, trade associations, and other health professional organizations on compliance issues.
  • Assist in plant preparation for third-party audits.
  • Handle escalated customer issues and complaints, and resolve them in a timely manner to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as a point of contact for government agencies (FDA and CFIA).
  • Follow through on Plant-related issues and action items, working closely with Plant Personnel.
  • Collect data and prepare reports on customer complaints and inquiries.
  • Conduct monthly trending analysis to aid the plant in complaint reduction.

Requirements:

  • University education or equivalent in food science or nutrition and/or chemistry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the food industry, specifically regulatory, labeling, and claims.
  • Experience in managing regulatory teams and consumer services teams.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the US and Canadian Food & Drugs Act and Regulations, as well as other consumer packaging regulations.

This is a hybrid opportunity based out of our Richmond BC office. Based on experience, this role will pay between $110,000 - $140,000 with a 15% bonus.
