Regulatory Compliance Role

This senior role is responsible for ensuring that all food products meet regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for regulatory compliance, labeling, and nutritional statements.
  • Act as an advocate for customer regulatory issues related to label compliance.
  • Identify, manage, and implement process improvements for regulatory information management.
  • Liaise with marketing and suppliers on product naming, claims, and packaging label integrity.
  • Stay up-to-date on FDA and CFIA regulations and policies and help the business prepare for changes.
  • Communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders on food labeling regulations.
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Lead vendor communication from initial conception to fully labeled product packaging.
  • Collaborate with team members and suppliers to support policies, programs, and certifications like Organic, Gluten-free, Non-GMO, Kosher, Whole Grains, etc.
  • Provide cross-functional oversight and technical support from a regulatory standpoint to ensure NP's procedures, policies, training, and document control systems are compliant and up-to-date.
  • Act as department lead with third-party certifying bodies and control bodies to ensure NP maintains current and unimpeded certification status under multiple regulatory standards.
  • Assist in ensuring timely turnaround and accurate responses to governmental agency and customer inquiries regarding regulatory, food safety, and quality.
  • Engage with external regulatory authorities, trade associations, and other health professional organizations with compliance issues impacting the Company or Industry.
  • Ensure corporate policies and procedures are up-to-date.
  • Handle escalated customer issues and complaints, investigation, and resolving them in a timely manner.
  • Collect data and prepare reports on customer complaints and inquiries.
  • Monthly trending analysis to aid plant in complaint reduction.
