Job Title: Compliance CCR

At Manitoulin Transport, we are seeking a highly skilled Compliance CCR to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of customer products within our system, following pre-class processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre and live classification of customer products at 96% accuracy and timeliness.
  • Familiarity with assigned clients' import programs, including products, special customs details, and government agency compliance requirements.
  • Ad-hoc projects to support overall compliance effectiveness.
  • Collaboration with Near North teams to ensure seamless delivery and compliance of customer products imported to Canada.
  • Responsiveness to client requests and support required as per agreed timelines.
  • Support other departments with compliance-related questions in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure monthly files are ready and confirmed with CBSA within the current cycle.
  • Add missing parts to import shipments.
  • Coding of files with required OGD and SIMA requirements.
  • Ensure assigned accounts are always compliant.
  • Manage exception reports daily.
Requirements:
  • 4-6 years of experience in the industry and customs house brokerage.
  • Minimum CCS, CTCS, or Licensed Canadian Customs Broker is preferred.
  • Intimate understanding of the Customs Act, DMEMORANDUM, Canadian Free Trade agreements, and Customs Tariff Act.
  • Basic understanding and accurate coding of the Special Import Measures Act, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Natural Resources Canada, Transport Canada, and Excise Tax Act.
  • Basic familiarity with processing through SWI, ACROSS, and CADEX.
  • Full understanding of international Couriers traffic and transportation.
  • Basic familiarity with INCOTERMS.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office products.
