Job Overview

At Manitoulin Transport, we are seeking a professional Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the seamless delivery and compliance of our customers' products imported to Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Classify products at 96% accuracy and timeliness within our customers' systems.
  2. Familiarize yourself with assigned clients' import programs, including products and government agency compliance requirements.
  3. Collaborate with other teams to ensure compliance of customer products.
  4. Support clients with responsiveness and timely support.
  5. Ensure monthly files are confirmed with CBSA within the current cycle.
  6. Add missing parts to import shipments.
  7. Verify files are coded properly with OGD and SIMA requirements.
  8. Manage exception reports daily.

Requirements
  1. 4 to 6 years of experience in customs house brokerage.
  2. Minimum CCS, CTCS, or Licensed Canadian Customs Broker.
  3. Intimate understanding of Customs Act, DMEMORANDUM, and Customs Tariff Act.
  4. Basic understanding of Special Import Measures Act, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and other agencies.
  5. Full understanding of international Couriers traffic and transportation.
  6. Basic familiarity with INCOTERMS.
  7. Good working knowledge of MS Office products.
