About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join our Commercial Real Estate Team at KPMG Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the execution of complex real estate deals, advising clients on long-term real estate portfolio management strategies, and maintaining and expanding key client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of real estate deals with intricate structures, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Advise clients on long-term real estate portfolio management strategies, including divestitures, acquisitions, and lease renewals.
  • Maintain and expand key client relationships, building trust and credibility through exceptional service and expertise.
  • Stay ahead of real-estate specific legislative changes and any implications on real estate transactions, as well as identifying emerging market trends in Ontario.
  • Structure innovative financing arrangements and joint ventures, leveraging your expertise to drive business growth.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on real estate complexities, including proactively advising clients on adapting to regulatory shifts.
  • Advise on developing strategies to optimize real estate portfolios, including advising on divestitures, acquisitions, and lease renewals.
  • Provide expertise in identifying and mitigating complex risks, such as regulatory changes or environmental liabilities.
  • Manage cross-border real estate transactions involving international investors, and some understanding of the implications of foreign investment laws.
Requirements
  • Over 5 years' experience in Real Estate Law, with a proven track record in managing real estate transactions.
  • Good standing with Law Society of Ontario.
  • Excellent negotiation and clear communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct detailed research.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and client satisfaction.
