Job Summary

About the Role

The Administrative Assistant-Specialized Services will be responsible for providing administrative support to Specialized Services programs. This includes performing duties such as word processing, data entry, client scheduling, preparing routine correspondence and reports, responding to inquiries, collecting fees, filing, operating office equipment, and maintaining inventories of supplies.

Northern Health Authority covers an area of nearly 600,000 square kilometers and offers health services in over two dozen communities and 55 First Nation's communities. We deliver hospital and community-based health care for a population of 300,000. Employing more than 7,000 staff throughout the region, Northern Health provides exceptional health services for Northerners, through the efforts of dedicated staff and physicians, in partnership with communities and organizations in Northern BC.

What We Offer

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Grade 12 diploma, a certificate from a recognized office administration certificate program, plus one year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The candidate must also have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, work independently and in cooperation with others, prioritize and organize work, type 50 wpm, establish and maintain rapport with clients, deal with others in a professional manner using tact and good judgment, and have knowledge of general office procedures and the ability to operate related equipment including computer applications. The candidate must also have the physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
