About the Role

The Huron-Perth Children's Aid Society is seeking a seasoned HR professional to fill the Director of People and Culture position. This key role will be responsible for driving HR strategy, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the Society's objectives, mission, and values.
  2. Lead organizational change initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize HR practices.
  3. Provide expert guidance on employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and risk management.
  4. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement HR initiatives, balancing kindness with accountability in all employee relations.
  5. Develop and manage performance management systems, ensuring employees receive regular feedback and support career progression.
  6. Implement and oversee programs for employee professional development, training, and career progression.
  7. Lead and manage organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing disruption.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, industrial relations, or equivalent.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation (an asset).
  • Proven experience in human resources management, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and individuals.
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
