About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to join our team at PHSA. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in the operation of our Program Area or Unit, providing administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient appointments, diagnostic tests, and procedures, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Process clinician orders, prepare requisitions, and communicate with patients and healthcare teams as needed.
  • Organize and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.

Requirements

  • Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including computers and medical software.
