Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As an Oncology Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing holistic nursing care to patients with cancer, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based treatment and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, intervention, symptom management, and treatment coordination.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, injections, and other treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient reactions and adjusting care plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting progress, and communicating with healthcare teams.
- Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and procedures.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and ability to apply it in practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Awareness of and commitment to Indigenous cultural safety and anti-racism principles.
