About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Unit Clerk to join our team at BC Cancer. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our oncology clinic, providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Patient Care: Coordinate patient appointments, diagnostic tests, and procedures, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of care.
  • Manage Clinical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, test results, and treatment plans.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Provide Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including data entry, filing, and other clerical duties.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure effective care coordination and patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to deal with others effectively; physical ability to carry out the duties of the position; ability to keyboard 40 w.p.m.; ability to organize work; ability to operate related equipment; ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications.
