Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Booking Clerk for the Diagnostic Imaging department.

Vancouver Coastal Health is in search of a dedicated Booking Clerk to support the Radiology-Ultrasound Team. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient scheduling and coordination of diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate the delivery of patient care while addressing client and family needs. Employ computerized systems along with strong interpersonal skills to schedule and manage appointments for various diagnostic imaging services. Execute tasks such as: receiving requests for examinations, coordinating appointment times with clients, healthcare providers, nursing units, and technical staff, adjusting schedules to accommodate changing demands, preparing and verifying client information, entering data into relevant computerized and/or manual systems, scheduling follow-up appointments, managing requisitions for all bookings, and maintaining statistics on appointments and waitlists. Additionally, provide clerical support including reception duties, responding to inquiries regarding report information, filing, and photocopying/faxing.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Completion of Grade 12 and two (2) years of recent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient typing skills at a minimum of 45 wpm. Familiarity with medical terminology. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Effective interpersonal skills. Physical capability to perform the duties required of the position. Strong organizational skills. Competence in operating related equipment.

Additional Information

The hours of work, including days off and work area, may be subject to change based on operational needs. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
