Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada is seeking a Full Time Intervenor to support deafblind individuals in their daily lives.
About the Role:The Intervenor will provide support and assistance to deafblind individuals, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting deafblind individuals in their homes and communities
- Using communication techniques to relay information and facilitate communication
- Empowering deafblind individuals to participate and be successful in daily living activities
- Providing personal care and assistance as required
- Assisting with goal development and support
- Ensuring documentation and records are complete
- Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related field
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions
- Communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE)
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- A competitive wage starting at $23.03/hour
