About the Role
CNIB Deafblind Community Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist, Intervenor to join our team. As a Specialist, Intervenor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are Deafblind to maximize their independence and engagement with the world around them.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one service and support to individuals who are Deafblind in the home or community.
- Facilitate access to information for individuals to gather information, learn concepts and skills, and make informed decisions.
- Provide sighted guide and environmental information to support individuals in navigating their surroundings.
- Work collaboratively with individuals who are Deafblind to determine their level of support and empower them to actively participate in their community.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong understanding of Deafblindness, Deaf/Deafblind culture, and common associated health-related concerns. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision.
