Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Associate Benefits Consultant to join our team in Ottawa/GTA. As a key member of our benefits consulting team, you will provide strategic solutions to clients and manage projects to deliver impactful results.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the overall design and management of group medical, dental, life, disability, and special risk benefits for clients, including developing and implementing strategies to support client retention and identifying client group insurance risks and recommending appropriate plan design and cost mitigation strategies.
- Act as a second chair for medium to large clients, managing the quality and timeliness of client deliverables and developing annual client plans to ensure clients receive value-added service and that work produced aligns with client goals and objectives.
- Participate in client calls and meetings as appropriate, assisting with the preparation of presentations, documents, and managing client expectations and effectively dealing with concerns or issues.
- Mentor analysts/technical staff and other team members as needed and peer review work.
Requirements
- 5+ years' progressive experience in group benefits in a client-facing or consulting capacity providing strategic and innovative solutions to clients' complex benefits challenges.
- Deep expertise and understanding of the group benefits industry, including funding arrangements and flex programs.
- Superior analytical and mathematical skills, strategic planning, communication, and listening skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and strong team player who works well with internal and external stakeholders.
- A solution and results-oriented individual who demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and provide deliverables as identified in a timely manner.
- Proficiency and comfort working with multi-channel technology.
- Completion of or the ability to complete the Life License Qualification Program (within 90 days of joining).
- Availability to travel on an as-needed basis.
- Valid Driver's License and Vehicle.
- Group Benefits Associate (GBA) or CEBS designation or currently working towards it.
