About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a skilled Mental Health & Substance Use Intake Clinician to join our team at qathet General Hospital in Powell River, BC.
As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will conduct intake functions, ensuring seamless linkages between clients and appropriate resources. Your expertise will be crucial in providing initial screening, triage, and referrals based on client needs and best practices.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in health sciences, excellent communication skills, and experience working with diverse populations. You will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing personalized treatment plans;
- Collaborating with healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies to ensure coordinated care;
- Facilitating education and training sessions to promote healthy lifestyles and disease prevention;
- Developing and maintaining relationships with community partners to enhance service delivery;
- Maintaining accurate records and statistical data to inform program development and evaluation.
Salary and Benefits
The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of $42.27-$52.81 per hour, commensurate with experience. In addition, VCH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and extended health coverage, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A baccalaureate degree in a related health science discipline;
- At least three years of recent experience in mental health and substance use services;
- Registration with a provincial licensing or governing body (if applicable).
