About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician to join our team at qathet General Hospital in Powell River, BC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake functions for designated treatment programs to ensure linkages between clients and appropriate resources.
  • Perform initial screening, triage, and referrals based on client needs, urgency of request, and best practices to determine appropriate treatment.
  • Provide information to health providers and the general public, establish and enhance relationships/communication within Vancouver Community and other community resources.
  • Prepare and maintain client records, maintain and provide accurate intake/referral data and statistics, participate in team meetings and continuing education, and engage in on-going team planning and quality improvement.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree in a related Health Science discipline (such as Counseling, Social Work).
  • Three (3) years' recent related experience in the designated program area or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Registration with Provincial licensing/governing body of profession where applicable.
