About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Landscaping Supervisor to join our team at JS Romana Landscaping. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and development of our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hiring and Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of landscaping staff to ensure the highest level of quality and productivity.
  • Grounds Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement plans for the maintenance and development of our outdoor spaces, including lawn care, pruning, and planting.
  • Labour and Materials Estimation: Plan and estimate the labour and materials required for landscaping projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Construction and Project Management: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative walls, and other landscaping features, ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest standard.
  • Record Keeping and Contract Administration: Maintain accurate records of work completed and administer contracts with suppliers and contractors.
  • Equipment and Machinery Management: Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly maintained and used in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Problem Solving and Technical Advice: Provide technical advice and guidance to staff and resolve any work-related problems that may arise.
  • Work Scheduling and Procedures: Establish and maintain work schedules and procedures to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
  • Work Site Environment: Outdoor work environment
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Chain saw, small engine equipment, sod cutter, tractor mower
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, excellent oral communication, initiative, judgement, team player
Working Conditions
