Occupational Therapist II, NICU Clinical Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and a passion for working with infants and families. The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide occupational therapy services to neonates and their families, and contribute to the development of innovative programs and services to improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions to neonates and their families, using advanced clinical knowledge and reasoning.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each client.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and research studies to advance the field of occupational therapy in neonatology.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Baccalaureate degree in Occupational Therapy and licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.
- Two years of recent experience in pediatric occupational therapy, preferably in a NICU setting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to critically appraise research evidence and apply best practices in occupational therapy.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultural safety principles and practices, with commitment to reconciliation and decolonization.
As a member of our team, you can expect a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
