Therapy Specialist for Neonatal Care

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), MotherBaby Care (MBC) and Neonatal Follow Up (NFU) Program. As a Therapy Specialist for Neonatal Care, you will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to provide occupational therapy assessments, develop treatment programs and educate clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide advanced occupational therapy assessments and interventions for infants and children in the NICU, MBC and NFU program.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans and goals.
- Educate clients and their families on how to support their child’s development and promote independence.
- Document client progress and outcomes, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to share expertise and best practices.
- Baccalaureate in Occupational Therapy and licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.
- Two years of recent related experience, including one year in pediatrics or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
- 50 hours of postgraduate coursework or training related to additional procedures, techniques and job functions for assigned area.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, work independently and as part of a team, and establish workload priorities.
