Job Summary:

The Radiation Therapist I - Patient Care Specialist will deliver a prescribed course of radiation treatment to patients and assist in the efficient, safe, and accurate planning of patient care during simulation and/or planning procedures according to the direction of a Radiation Oncologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess each patient's reactions to treatment and document treatment plans
  • Maintain patient records and educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies
  • Make referrals to other health professionals as needed
  • Collaborate with the Radiation Oncologist to ensure accurate and efficient treatment planning

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or an accredited non-Canadian program
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)
  • Ability to perform all duties of the job, including lifting and moving

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
