Position Summary:

As a Radiation Therapy Specialist I, your primary responsibility will be to administer prescribed radiation treatment regimens to patients. You will play a crucial role in the meticulous planning and execution of patient care during simulation and planning sessions, under the guidance of a Radiation Oncologist. Your duties will include:

  • Evaluating patient responses to treatment and documenting comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Providing education to patients regarding treatment processes, potential side effects, and effective management strategies to alleviate these effects.
  • Making referrals to other healthcare professionals when necessary.

Essential Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized program in Radiation Therapy within Canada or an equivalent international program. Must be actively registered or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Additional Required Skills:

Ability to perform all job-related tasks, including physical lifting and patient mobility.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active registration or eligibility with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
