About the Role:

As a Respiratory Therapist I at Alberta Health Services, you will be a pivotal member of the healthcare team, working in a dynamic environment that includes PICU, NICU, Inpatient Units, and the Emergency Department. You will have the opportunity to utilize your excellent clinical, communication, and teamwork skills to support optimal outcomes for your patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients, develop, and implement respiratory therapy care plans, and monitor their progress.
  • Collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes.
  • Provide training and assist healthcare providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment, and treatments.

Requirements:

  • Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
  • ACH Acute care experience.
  • Pediatric tertiary critical care experience.
  • 1 year of Level III NICU experience within the last 2 years.
  • Formal preceptor training.
  • Current PALS certification.
  • Current NRP certification.
  • Charge/Team Lead experience.
  • Outreach/Rapid Response Team experience.
  • Peds and/or Neonatal Inter-facility transport training and experience.
  • ECLS training.
  • CISM Training.
  • Commitment to a multidisciplinary committee within the past 2 years.
