Your Opportunity:

As a key member of our healthcare team, you will engage in a range of defined diagnostic imaging procedures. Your role is vital in ensuring that patient care is upheld to the highest standards. You will meticulously review documentation to confirm accurate patient identification and ensure the appropriate examination is conducted. Effective communication with patients is essential; you will prepare, explain, and position them for their imaging procedures.

You will be responsible for preparing and/or administering imaging agents as permitted. Your expertise will be crucial in reviewing images for completeness, organizing them, and consulting with the Radiologist when necessary. Maintaining quality control throughout all procedures is a priority, and you will be accountable for the quality and precision of the images produced, adhering to departmental protocols.

Additionally, you will document all required information in patient records as necessary. It is essential to complete all data entry and administrative tasks for each patient. You will also ensure safety protocols are followed and maintain cleanliness in your work area, particularly concerning infection control and radiation safety.

You will operate, maintain, and report any equipment malfunctions. Daily Quality Assurance activities will be part of your responsibilities, including maintaining exam logs, conducting phantom QA, addressing failed verification checks, and making image corrections as needed.

Position Overview:

In the role of Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will conduct a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations aimed at diagnosing diseases and pathologies. Your responsibilities will include interpreting physician requisitions, preparing and assessing patients for examinations, and producing high-quality diagnostic images for review by Physicians and Radiologists. You may also assist in the upkeep and maintenance of imaging equipment. Your work may encompass various procedures, including general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy when necessary.

Required Qualifications:

- Completion of a diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

- Ability to perform under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of effective radiation protection, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with Epic (Connect Care) is an asset.
