Salary: CAD $41.52 / hourIn accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice and the Mission and Values of Fraser Health, we provide person-centered care through the provision of pre and post-operative nursing care. This includes assisting with surgical and interventional procedures and discharge teaching for adults and children in an inpatient unit and/or outpatient clinic or setting.
The salary range for this position is CAD $41.52 / hour. Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information: Use skills of observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment to assess patients and collect information.
- Makes a nursing diagnosis: Determine whether the condition can be improved or resolved by an appropriate nursing intervention.
- Plans, performs, and evaluates nursing interventions and care: Plan, perform, and evaluate nursing interventions and care to improve patient outcomes.
- Observes patient acuity for significant changes: Monitor patients for significant changes in their condition and intervene as necessary.
- Acts to resolve problems or emergency situations: Respond to emergencies and resolve problems using critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the interprofessional care team to provide comprehensive care to patients. We encourage family participation in the development, implementation, and ongoing modification of the care plan.
Requirements- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing
- Two years recent relevant clinical experience in the designated clinical area and completion of post-graduate coursework and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area.
- Ability to initiate and maintain intravenous therapy
- Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment and provide nursing care through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families/caregivers, the public, medical staff, and members of the interprofessional care team.
