About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Multimedia Content Creator to join our dynamic team at Rogers Sports & Media. As a key member of our news operations, you will play a crucial role in shaping and strengthening the CityNews brand by creating fast-paced, compelling, and informative news content for our digital properties and broadcast on our television and radio news programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our team to create engaging news content that meets the needs of our diverse audience
  • Coordinate and deploy newsroom and field resources to gather elements and create news content
  • Perform various control room duties, including pitching during daily creative brainstorms and story meetings
  • Conduct interviews, research, and create enterprise or breaking news content
  • Develop innovative video content optimized for a digital audience
  • Ensure that content is factually and grammatically correct
Requirements
  • Superior writing, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Shift work required (regular weekend and evenings)
  • An appetite to learn and grow
  • Competence in a number of skills required to work in a modern, multi-platform, continuous news operation, including writing, chasing, researching, producing, digital storytelling, pitching, interviewing, posting, basic shooting, and desktop editing
