Job Title: Compliance Manager
Job Summary:
Glasslake is a rapidly growing mortgage lender seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead our efforts in Quebec. The successful candidate will be well-versed in provincial and federal regulatory matters and have a proven track record of building operations from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all Canadian and Quebec-specific regulations and laws governing mortgage originations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) standards.
- Maintain and update internal policies and procedures to reflect changes in provincial and federal requirements.
- Provide training to all Glasslake employees on Quebec regulations and ensure compliance accordingly.
- Oversee all required disclosures and information provided in compliance with Quebec's consumer protection laws.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field of study.
- 7-10 years' experience in the mortgage origination and lending industry.
- Proficient in both official languages of Canada, French and English, with the ability to read, write, and verbally communicate at an expert level.
- Knowledgeable with the Quebec Consumer Protection Act.
- Strong working knowledge of lending regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to influence strategy and provide strategic oversight without direct authority.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate contracts and business agreements.
- Proficiency with lending software and technology platforms.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within the region, to the head office in Toronto, and any industry events or conferences locally, nationally, or internationally.
- Must possess a valid broker license for the province of Quebec.
