Role Overview

The Senior Fraud Detection Specialist will play a critical role in preventing and minimizing losses to Scotiabank resulting from fraudulent activity on Payment cards and deposit accounts. This position will work collaboratively with the Fraud Detection Team to analyze alerts generated by fraud monitoring systems and/or batch reports, identify trends and patterns, and take proactive measures to block compromised accounts and prevent further fraudulent activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze alerts and batch reports to identify potential fraudulent activity
  • Work with the Fraud Detection Team to identify trends and patterns in fraudulent activity
  • Take proactive measures to block compromised accounts and prevent further fraudulent activity
  • Collaborate with branches and other Financial Institutions to determine the legitimacy of suspicious activity
  • Monitor Service Level Agreements and Alert queues for timely actioning of alerts

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple Windows-based application systems
  • Knowledge of basic PC applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes)
