Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a critical care registered nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
  • Lead and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development of patient care plans and addressing patient concerns.
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Completion of a post-graduate critical care course or two years' recent experience in an equivalent setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to apply decision-making and analytical skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
