As a key member of the Organizational Development team at Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority, the Strategic Development Consultant plays a vital role in fostering a learning environment that promotes open conversation, effective problem-solving, innovation, and creativity.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Deliver Training Programs: Collaborate with People and Organizational Development employees to design and develop courses and programs using various training modalities, and deliver training to enhance individual, team, and organizational capacity and effectiveness.
- Provide Consulting and Coaching Services: Offer consulting and coaching to leaders and organizational partners on change initiatives and other organization development opportunities to drive business growth and improvement.
- Partner with Leaders and Stakeholders: Work with leaders and other organizational partners to analyze and clarify complex program issues and objectives, and develop strategies and plans to enhance performance and achieve business outcomes.
- Design and Implement Strategies: Design, implement, and evaluate strategies and interventions to enhance individual, team, and program effectiveness, stimulate employee engagement, promote learning, and facilitate change, including teambuilding, visioning, strategic planning, and change and transition management.
- Research and Monitor Trends: Research and monitor trends in training and organization development, assess impact, fit, and benefit to the organization, and provide expertise and recommendations to various committees and working groups regarding training and organization development issues.
- Lead and Contribute to Projects: Lead and contribute to projects as assigned, leveraging expertise and knowledge to drive business results and improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Organization Development, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Adult Education, or a related discipline, and five (5) years' recent relevant experience preferably in a complex healthcare organization.
Key skills and abilities include:
- Trainer certifications, such as MBTI, Consulting, Coaching, and Training
- ICF credential and/or CHRP designation
- Comprehensive knowledge of current organization development theory, methodologies, and tools, including change management, systems thinking, leadership, and team development
- Demonstrated coaching, consulting, and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relations and to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to independently organize workload in a customer-focused environment that includes high volume, frequent interruptions, multiple tasks, and shifting priorities and deadlines
- Ability to assess, design, implement, and evaluate learning strategies and methodologies based on adult learning principles and practices
